Relative newcomers to Major League Baseball, the D-Backs we're established as an expansion franchise in 1998 in a long-in-the-making bid to bring world-class baseball to the Phoenix area. Despite a rough opening game when the Colorado Rockies trounced them 9-2, the Diamondbacks found their footing in no time, securing a division title in only their second year and then an incredible World Series victory over the New York Yankees in 2001.

Not letting the limelight get the better of them, the Arizona Diamondbacks continued to fight hard, returning to the playoffs in 2002 and finally again in 2007 with a young, attention-grabbing lineup.

Of course, one of the most exciting things about catching the D-Backs at their home turf is the home itself: Chase Field. Completed just in time for the 1998 opening game, Chase Field is a modern marvel featuring a sophisticated HVAC system that keeps all 49,000 seats cool even in the height of summer.
